The USDA defines food insecurity as the lack of access to adequate food resulting from the lack of money and other resources. (Feeding America, Map the Meal Gap: Child Food Insecurity 2011. Data released May 2012.) The Atlanta Community Food Bank reports that more than one in every four Georgia children – 28.3% of our children – now live in food insecure households. You can help our community narrow the gap. Consider donating any of the items listed below to help feed women and children in our community!

Utensils and Paper Products

Paper plates, plastic forks, plastic spoons, paper napkins, paper bowls, large measuring cups - this is to help us serve the food evenly, for example, two cups per person of of rice or veggies. We also need both large and small ziploc bags.

Clothes and Throws

Socks (one size fits all), T-Shirts (one size fits all), Sweatshirts (one size fits all), Hats and Gloves (one size fits all), Throws (not full size blanket).

Trial Size Toiletries

Soap, Toothpaste, Mouthwash, Deodorant, Pads, Tampons, Lotion, Tooth Brush with holder, Shampoo, Conditioner, etc.

Book Bags

Please assist with book bags or any kine of carrying bag that zips, so that they can carry their things
